Despite a triumphant end to a dismal season, Manchester United have plans of bringing in multiple reinforcements as new co-owners INEOS begin their revolution.

However, years of poor investment under the Glazers seem to have caught up with the Red Devils, who will need to sell players and raise capital before they can begin their recruitment spree.

As reportedly widely, United have made almost all players available for transfer except for a handful of stars and even new signings are not exempt.

Altay Bayindir arrived in the summer as backup to Andre Onana after the club moved on both David de Gea and Dean Henderson last summer.

New reserve keeper for United

The Turk arrived from Fenerbahce for €5 million and manager Erik ten Hag has praised him multiple times for his training displays.

However, unfortunately, those did not translate into on-field opportunities with the 26-year-old starting only once the whole season despite Andre Onana’s rather shaky start to life as United’s No 1.

The Turkish international started the FA Cup game against Newport County and conceded twice to the League Two opposition with the defenders letting him down on the night. He never got a look-in after that.

Being a full-fledged international, Bayindir must have felt he could have got a few more chances and is reportedly unhappy with the lack of game-time.

The shot-stopper was linked with a return to his homeland but Turkish publication Aksam have now linked him with a move to Scottish giants Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers’ team are on the lookout for a goalkeeper after Joe Hart retired at the end of the last campaign and they have the United keeper on their radar.

Celtic want Bayindir

“The 26-year-old national goalkeeper, who could not get much playing time under the management of Erik ten Hag, is preparing to leave the team at the end of the season and go to a team where he can get more playing time.

“The new stop of Altay Bayındır, who is preparing to leave Manchester United, will be Scotland. Celtic is preparing to add Altay Bayındır to its squad to replace Joe Hart, who retired from football. The Scottish team plans to sign a 4-year contract with the 26-year-old goalkeeper.”

The Turk has a contract until 2027 with the Old Trafford side and has a market value of €10 million as per Transfermarkt.

With Tom Heaton’s deal also ending, whether United will agree to let go of another keeper and restart the lengthy process of finding a backup remains to be seen.

Last season, the club were linked with quite a few reserve keepers but settled on the former Fenerbahce star. He should be unhappy with the lack of minutes but shouldn’t give up so soon into his United career.
