Leicester City have loaned out ten players this season, a majority of whom are youngsters. The Foxes have sent Silko Thomas, Harry Souttar, Sammy Braybrooke, Amani Richards, Tom Cannon, Brandon Cover, Wanya Marçal-Madivadua, Ben Nelson, Chris Popov, and Brad Young to get regular game time in senior football and further their development. Out of the ten players mentioned above, Leicester fans should keep a close eye on two of them in particular.

The 20-year-old centre-back made his first team debut for Leicester last season, coming on as a substitute in a 2-0 away victory against Tranmere Rovers in the EFL Cup. Enzo Maresca started utilising Nelson in the EFL Championship towards the end of the campaign. The England youth international impressed in his five appearances. Nelson was calm and composed in possession and showed good defensive skills and physicality to win the ball back.

Nelson joined Championship side Oxford United on a season-long loan and will get his first taste of regular senior-level game time. He has the potential to be a starting centre-back for Leicester in the Premier League, and Foxes scouts and fans alike will monitor his development with great interest.

Braybrooke is regarded as one of the top Leicester prospects. The City academy graduate has been likened to Spanish legend Andres Iniesta by his former England under-18 teammates. A deep-lying midfielder, the 20-year-old is a composed and intelligent player who reads the game well. Braybrooke excels at escaping the press, manoeuvring out of danger, or passing through the line in tight situations.

The former England under-18 captain is currently out on a season-long loan with Scottish Premiership club Dundee. He made his senior debut in a 2-2 home draw against St. Mirren, with BBC Sport reporting that the youngster had a good game, making 15 final third passes and “looking composed” in possession.
