Manchester City has decided against making a move for Chelsea attacking midfielder Mason Mount this summer, according to reports in the English media.
The Citizens were linked with a bid for the England international a couple of months ago, but it appears they will not be competing with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United for the player’s signature.
Fans on Twitter are pleased that the Premier League champions have opted to pull out of the race for Mount:

With Chelsea said to be demanding as much as £70m for Mount, despite the fact that he is closing in on the final year of his contract, it seems like City made the right decision.
Although Pep Guardiola’s side are expected to be in the market for a couple of midfielders this summer, with Ilkay Gundogan and (potentially) Bernardo Silva leaving, there are plenty of players available who are better value for money.
