Manchester United academy graduate Ethan Galbraith has broken his silence on his departure from the club.

The 22-year-old’s contract at United is up in June and the club will not be renewing his deal, despite having the option to trigger a one-year extension.

The Peoples Person reported on his impending departure at the start of the month, but Man United’s official website has now confirmed the news.

And Galbraith himself has also spoken out, taking to Instagram to write a heartfelt message.

“After six years, my time has come to an end with this magnificent club, Manchester United,” he said.

“I want to thank the club, coaching staff and players for helping me become a better player, a better person and for making me feel at home.

“My earliest ambition as a boy was to become a professional footballer and I’m forever grateful to the club for giving me the opportunity and support to fulfil that dream.

“It’s been a privilege and I feel very fortunate to have been able to represent the club.

“I step into the next chapter of my career a more mature, well-rounded person and I’m excited for what’s next.”

Galbraith made one senior appearance for Manchester United, against Astana in Kazakhstan during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tenure.

He since played for Doncaster Rovers and Salford on loan, earning valuable first team experience.

While it will not continue at Old Trafford, Ethan Galbraith is sure to have an interesting future in football, having gleamed so much during his time at Man United.
