ne of the highlights of the British sporting summer is increasingly coming into focus, with excitement building ahead of the 2023 Wimbledon Championships.
All eyes in the tennis world turn to SW19 and the All England Club in July, with Novak Djokovic and Elena Rybakina the defending champions in the singles’ draws. The ban on Russian and Belarusian players has been lifted, after athletes from both countries were barred 12 months ago following the invasion of Ukraine.
There will be some notable absentees though, with Emma Raducanu not competing after undergoing surgery on both wrists and her ankle, while Rafael Nadal is not yet ready to make his return to tennis as he battles a hip injury.
Here’s all you need to know about this year’s tournament…

How to get tickets for Wimbledon 2023
The Wimbledon Public Ballot offered tennis fans a chance to get tickets for this year’s tournament, though that closed at the end of last year and those who were successful will have been notified in recent months.
For those who did not enter or did not succeed in getting tickets through the ballot, there are two remaining options.
Tickets can be bought through the official hospitality provider, Keith Prowse, or fans can try their luck with the famous Wimbledon queue later this summer.
It begins at Wimbledon Park very early each morning, with up to 500 tickets available for the three Show Courts that day.
