Bild reports that both Anton Stach and Leandro Barreiro will be able to leave Mainz this summer.
Luxembourg International Barreiro will be sold this summer. The 23-year-old’s contract at Mainz expires next summer meaning the club risk losing him on a free transfer if they fail to cash in on him this summer.
Barreiro is open to leaving the club this summer and has suitors not only from Germany but aboard as well, however, this team must be a clear step up from Mainz.
For Stach, his contract also expires in 2024 but Mainz have an option to extend to 2025, so there is less pressure to sell the 24-year-old. Stach has previously stated his desire to play European football. Mainz are demanding €15m for Stach and Barreiro.
This comes after Mainz are set to sign Tom Krauß from RB Leipzig, the midfielder spent last season on loan at Schalke and plays in the same position as Stach and Barreiro.
