Manchester City are “not considering” a bid for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, according to City Xtra.

The website report that the Ecuadorian international is not on the club’s list of targets for the summer transfer window.

Chelsea have been regarded as red-hot favourites for Caicedo’s signature, despite reportedly having three bids rejected by the Seagulls for the player.

It was, however, claimed that a mystery Premier League team had their own proposal turned down, and some had speculated that the club in question could be the treble winners.

However, City Xtra have said they have managed to confirm that City did not make an offer for Caicedo.

Guardiola has revealed that the club are looking to sign more players this summer

While a move for Caicedo appears to be out of the question, manager Pep Guardiola has recently admitted that the Citizens are still active in the transfer market, even after the purchase of Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig, When asked about further potential signings last week, Guardiola said:

“I don’t know if we are finished in transfer market, still some more I think.”

City are targeting a replacement for Mahrez

Even though the Premier League champions have been tipped to sign another midfielder, it is believed a winger is more likely to arrive before the transfer deadline at the start of next month.

Following Riyad Mahrez’s departure for Saudi Arabia, City have been left rather short in terms of options out wide. It is, therefore, not surprising that a number of wingers have been linked.

The Citizens are known to be keen admirers of Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise and, with the Frenchman having a £35m release clause, a bid cannot be ruled out. Reports at the weekend also suggested that the club may explore a move for Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma.
