The Premier League season is yet to see a manager get the sack six weeks after getting underway.
But with each game we get closer to the first firing of the campaign as clubs get more and more anxious about their position in the table.
Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is in the spotlight this week after his side lost to Aston Villa on Sunday, while Erik ten Hag’s position at Manchester United has also come under scrutiny in recent weeks.
What are the chances either of them get sacked in the near future? We’ve consulted the betting markets to see who is most likely to find out.

5. Erik ten Hag, Man Utd – 14/1
The situation at Man United has stabilised (for now) after the Red Devils picked up a much needed win over Burnley at the weekend. But the performance left much to be desired, meaning Erik ten Hag isn’t out of the clear just yet. The odds for him to get the sack have drifted out to 16/1, although most major bookmakers have him at 14/1 to be shunted out the door.

4. Gary O’Neil, Wolves – 10/1
After doing a phenomenal to help Bournemouth survive the drop last season, Gary O’Neil was left jobless this summer as the Cherries decided to make a change in the dugout. The 40-year-old has since taken up a difficult task at Wolves, who sold or lost many of their best players in the summer. They’ve just one win under their belts and became the first team to drop points to Luton, although the performances have been better than the results.

3. Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea – 8/1
The markets vary wildly on just how secure Mauricio Pochettino’s position at Stamford Bridge really is, but several bookmakers have him as low at 8/1 to get the sack, while others still have him as far out as 16/1. Chelsea’s narrow defeat to Villa has done him no favours, however.

2. Sean Dyche – 8/1
The odds on Sean Dyche being sacked by Everton have drifted out to 8/1 with most bookmakers (some have him at 12/1) after the Toffees beat Brentford 3-1 away from home on Saturday. It’s probably not the best time to back against the former Burnley boss at this time given the club is in the process of being taken over, and the uncertainty that has come with it.

1. Paul Heckingbottom – 1/2
Following Newcastle’s 8-0 demolition of Sheffield United, Paul Heckingbottom feels like a dead man walking. Ralph Hasenhuttl survived two 9-0 defeats as Southampton manager, but it’s difficult to see how he can recover from this defeat like the Austrian did. The bookies think so too, placing him as the dead-on favourite to be the next manager to get fired.
