Sky Germany reports that Manchester United are interested in RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner who has fallen out of favour at the Saxony club.
The Premier League side has already enquired about the availability of Werner but have not made an offer or opened negotiations yet. It has previously been reported that Leizpig will not stand in the way of Werner if the striker wishes to leave either permanently or on loan.
Werner’s current preference is to stay at Leipzig until the summer despite being unhappy with his playing situation. However, things could change as Werner has lost his place in the German national team and with a home Euros on the horizon in the summer, the 27-year-old may want to find a club where he can refind his form ahead of the tournament.
This season Werner has only played eight Bundesliga games with most of his appearances coming off of the bench. Werner’s form in front of goal has also dropped off compared to last season as he currently has only scored twice.
