The three-time World Cup winner’s foundation has paid tribute to CR7 for his efforts to help children.
The Pele Foundation has awarded Cristiano Ronaldo the Three Hearts Award for his ‘excellence on and off the field’.
The Three Hearts Award, also known as the ‘Prêmio Três Corações’ in Brazil, is named after Pele’s birthplace, a municipality in the state of Minas Gerais called ‘Três Corações’.
It’s a new annual award from the Pele Foundation that goes out to a player, a non-profit organization, and an ‘inspiration’ for their contributions to child welfare around the world.
As a result, Ronaldo won the first player’s edition of the Three Hearts Award on Tuesday.

The award for the best non-profit organization went to the South African-based Grassroot Soccer, with Pele noting “their leadership in adolescent health over the past 20 years.”
The third award for the best ‘inspiration’ went to Global Empowerment Mission, a Disaster Relief Nonprofit organization, for its efforts to help Ukrainian refugees.
