On Tuesday morning, Abdulkadir Omur was seen at Istanbul airport, ready to catch a flight to Manchester and finalize his transfer to Hull City. Acun Ilicali, the owner of Hull City, has been engaged in continual negotiations with Trabzonspor owner Ertugrul Dogan for some time now and despite Omur’s strong desire to move over to England – the former Super Lig champions had initially resisted Hull City’s efforts to secure the transfer.
Journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu has revealed details about the potentiaal €5m deal which includes 50% sell-on clause.

There were reports that the Turkish side were holding on to a potential £7m deal, although it looks like inclusion of this heavy sell-on clause has put some weight on reducing the initial transfer price.
Referred to as the ‘Turkish Messi’ in his earlier career by UEFA, Omur is quite adept in the center of midfield or on the right wing, and has garnered significant attention from leading European clubs. Back in 2019, Manchester City and Liverpool were linked with a £27m move for him, while Arsenal and Newcastle United have also reportedly expressed interest.
Abdulkadir was captured on video by Turkish media outlet Sports Digitale as he navigated through Istanbul’s main airport. His arrival in East Yorkshire, accompanied by his representative, is expected later on today.
Abdulkadir Omur – A Brief
“My heroes are Messi and Iniesta. I like Iniesta because of his intelligence and vision on the pitch. I like Messi because of his free role on the pitch and the fact he beats defenders so easily. I tailor my individual training to be like them.” – You could say ample about a player when he speaks about what (or whom) they style themselves on, and looks like the Turkish ace has some heroes that like to operate in tight spaces and come through with the passes and making play and that is what he is all about.
Omur is a threat in the final third, excelling in both creating goal-scoring chances and executing shots from afar. There has been comparisons to former Barcelona and Romania playmaker Gheorghe Hagi, Omur’s style of play is a blend of creativity, speed, and goal-scoring capability. Possessing exceptional technical skills and creativity, he stands out as a reliable option when faced with breaking down solid defensive structures. His comfort with the ball at his feet is attributed to remarkable close control, anticipation, and awareness. As a natural playmaker, he demonstrates the vision and awareness required to find teammates in congested areas, delivering incisive passes. Omur embodies the characteristics of a traditional left-footed No. 10.
Abdulkadir Omur operates primarily as a central attacking midfielder but showcases versatility by effectively playing on both the left and right sides of the midfield. Regardless of his position, he consistently fulfills the role of a natural playmaker.
He displays a penchant for taking on opponents before cutting inside to generate shooting opportunities or create space. Furthermore, his ability to shoot from distance contributes to a commendable long-shot record.
