A stunning late dagger from Kyle Kuzma has secured a massive 100-97 win for the Washington Wizards over the Chicago Bulls.

Kuzma had the ball just past the halfway line and was tightly defended by Bulls star Alex Caruso.

But Kuzma got some needed assistance from Wizards centre Taj Gibson, who raced over to set a screen.

The 27-year-old then advanced to the right side of the court before he leapt up on the edge of the arc and drained the matchwinning three-pointer with just seconds remaining on the clock.

The Bulls weren’t able to muster up a miracle play of their own as the Wizards held on to hold on to victory and improve to an 18-24 record as the Bulls dipped to 19-23.

Washington’s victory was their second in 2023 and snapped a three-game losing streak as they look to continue the good times against the Knicks on Saturday.

Kuzma topped the scoring column for the Wizards with 21 points, aided by Anthony Gill and Monte Morris who scored 18 and 17 points respectively.

A monster game from Deni Avdija also played a major role in the Wizards’ victory, chalking up 20 rebounds.

It was a surprising loss for the Bulls given they outscored the Wizards in three quarters and were up by 13 points at halftime.

However, the Wizards exploded in the third quarter with 41 points to Chicago’s 21 as the contest flipped on its head.

And although the Bulls held Washington to just 13 points in the fourth period as well as guard Zach LaVine notching 38 points, the Wizards battled hard and got the much needed victory.
