Jake Paul has added to his boxing resume with another win on Sunday.
The YouTuber turned fighter wasted no time wrapping up his latest bout as he secured a first round TKO victory.
BOXING: Goodman v Schleibs & Hardman v Saavedra | WED 13 MAR | Order Now with Main Event on Kayo Sports.
Ryan Bourland, 35, barely put up a fight as Paul unleashed punches from directions never seen from a professional boxer.
In the end the referee had seen enough and stepped in as Bourland fell onto all fours as Paul ran to the corner and put a glove up to his ear.
The 27-year-old American has long been targeted by fans for continually stepping into the ring against lacklustre opposition.
A calling card from the masses towards Paul has centred around his reluctance to take on more accomplished boxers.
On Sunday he attempted to silence those doubters by taking on a man with 19 professional fights to his name.
Bourland entered the contest with a 17-2 record, but what was routinely overlooked by the Paul camp was one glaring fact … Bourland had fought just once in the past five and a half years.
He secured a TKO win in September 2022, in his most recent fight. Prior to that he won via decision way back in October, 2018.
It mattered little to Paul who extended his boxing record to 9-1 with his latest win and after the bout he called out arguably one of the best boxers on the planet.
“I’m ready for the big league, I’m getting sharp,” Paul said to Ariel Helwani.
“This is my life now I’m on the road to world champion.
“Canelo (Alvarez) stop ducking. I know you want it.
“I’m repping Puerto Rico, you’re repping Mexico. It’s Puerto Rico vs Mexico. I want Canelo, I want all the biggest names.
“Like I said, I’m the face of this sport, truly. Who is doing more for boxing than me? I keep on proving myself time and time again.
“The most followed boxer, the most viral KO’s. Period. That’s just facts, nobody can deny that.
“I’m here to stay, I’m a staple in this game and really I want all the smoke so whoever is out there. Let’s get it popping.”
Fans watching on however weren’t buying it and took aim at Paul.
While Paul has long called out the biggest names in boxing, none have ever taken him seriously.
That all changed on Sunday after his win over Bourland.
Ryan Garcia took to his Instagram account to put his hand up to take on Paul and bring his boxing career to an end.
“I’m tired of this. I’m done, I’m stopping this shit and it’s my fault I started his boxing career,” Garcia wrote.
“I should’ve never. But no regrets! I’m going to hurt this man bad.”
Now we wait and see which retired boxer Paul will line up for his next fight on his supposed journey to be world champion.
