There was plenty of drama at the weigh-ins as Nikita Tszyu attempted to use as much time as possible to make the cut ahead of his bout against Danilo Creati.

Creati comfortably made the super welterweight limit of 70kg, as he tipped the scales at 69.68kg.

The Italian’s coach Tony Del Vecchio even revealed Creati was able to enjoy a proper meal last night, such was the ease of his weight cut.

However, when ring announcer Lt Dan Hennessey called for Tszyu to step onto the scales, he was nowhere to be seen.

Main Event’s Ben Damon then revealed ‘The Butcher’ was running late as he needed more time to cut weight, with No Limit CEO George Rose revealing Tszyu was as much as one kilogram over the 70kg limit this morning.

Del Vecchio was then asked by Damon how he felt about Tszyu’s lateness.

Although Del Vecchio was OK with Tszyu potentially being overweight upon arrival knowing he’d have two extra hours to make the weight, he said: “I want him on the scales now.”

Eventually a white SUV pulled up to the Entertainment Quarter as Tszyu, sporting a pair of black sunglasses, quickly made his way to the stage.

Thankfully Tszyu weighed in at 69.82kg, meaning the fight was made official.

When asked by Damon why he was late, Tszyu dodged any suggestions he struggled with the weight cut.

“I was just walking my dogs,” Tszyu said.

“I lost track of time. Sorry, guys.”

But when asked what happens on Wednesday night, Tszyu found his cheekiness once again and stated: “The vegan’s going to eat a sausage tomorrow.”

Footage then emerged of Tszyu looking incredibly depleted and sheepish as he sat down on the steps next to the stage and was barely able to hold down his drink.
