Australian star Matt Kuhnemann revealed Indian spin king Ravindra Jadeja upheld his promise to offer him some tips and tricks at the end of the series as the two enjoyed a chat “about everything.”

Kuhnemann was thrust into the Australian Test squad after Mitchell Swepson flew home mid-series for the birth of his first child and took full advantage of his opportunity.

The 26-year-old took two wickets on debut in the second Test before enjoying a dazzling performance in the third Test, snaring five wickets for a measly 16 runs in the first innings en route to the Aussies’ famous nine-wicket victory.

After Kuhnemann made his debut in the second Test, he asked if Jadeja had any tips for the future, to which the Indian star told him he’d reveal all once the series was concluded.

And Jadeja was a man of his word.

“It was probably about 15 minutes, he (Jadeja) was just giving me some awesome tips; we talked about everything,” Kuhnemann told AAP.

“Nathan Lyon helped organise it as well.

“He (Jadeja) was really impressed with Todd, ‘Gaz’ and myself so that was really cool to hear that from him.

“He gave me some good tips for the next time we’re in the subcontinent and some tips to go back home with as well.

“He was really nice and just said any time to reach out, and even sent me a message on Instagram, so that was pretty cool.”

Kuhnemann ultimately took nine wickets across three Tests in a highly impressive spell for the debutant and Australia’s spin corps as a whole, with the Queenslander, Lyon and Murphy chalking up a combined 45 wickets.
