The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has introduced the Champions One-Day Cup for the 2024 season, marking a new chapter in domestic cricket. This innovative tournament aims to enhance the standard of domestic cricket in Pakistan by providing a competitive platform for emerging talent. Featuring five regional teams and a robust format, the Champions One-Day Cup is set to be a significant step in bridging the gap between domestic and international cricket.

List of Teams

The Champions One-Day Cup will showcase five regional teams, each representing a different part of Pakistan:

  • Dolphins
  • Lions
  • Panthers
  • Stallions
  • Wolves

Team Mentors

Each team will be guided by a renowned former cricketer who serves as a mentor, offering invaluable experience and insights:

  • Wolves: Misbah-ul-Haq
  • Panthers: Saqlain Mushtaq
  • Dolphins: Sarfaraz Ahmed
  • Stallions: Shoaib Malik
  • Lions: Waqar Younis

Format of the Tournament

The Champions One-Day Cup follows a single-league format, where each team plays against every other team once. This structure ensures that all teams have an equal opportunity to showcase their skills and compete for top positions. The top teams will advance to the knockout stages, which include the Qualifier, Eliminator 1, Eliminator 2, and the Final.
