Victorian cricket fans were treated to the full Chris Gayle experience at a T20 exhibition between Endeavour Hills and Queensland outfit Western Districts at Shepley Oval in Dandenong.

Gayle was one of several headliners to line up for Endeavour Hills with former Pakistan international Shoaib Malik and ex-Sri Lankan Test star Tillakaratne Dilshan.

England ace Dawid Malan was initially named to play for Endeavour Hills as well, but he did not play.

Gayle arrived in a black Mercedes van with ‘VIP Transfers’ printed on the side of the door and posed with fans as well as signing autographs before the game.

The West Indies legend then rolled back the years at the crease as he lasted the entire 20 overs and blasted an unbeaten 95 runs from 65 balls, with eight sixes to boot.

The 43-year-old’s innings helped Endeavour Hills to a total of 4-167.

Gayle opened the batting for Endeavour Hills and lasted the entire 20 overs, posting an unbeaten 95 from 65 balls, with eight sixes to boot.

During a weather break, fans were treated to some musical entertainment from DJ Havana Brown.

Unsurprisingly, Gayle was right in the thick of the action as he enjoyed the tunes.

It was a continuation from the night before, as Gayle revealed he was out on the town in Melbourne on Saturday night with Jamaican sprint king Usain Bolt.

However, the slugger doesn’t have plans to be in Australia for long.

“It’s good to be here,” Gayle told The Age.

“[I’m here for] a good time, not a long time.

“I’m just here for two games and then that’s it.”

Gayle and some of his teammates’ involvement in the T20 exhibitions for Endeavour Hills has been shrouded in controversy after Victorian Police announced they charged a 35-year-old with 18 alleged theft and deception offences in relation to a whopping $250,000 stolen from a company with ties to the event.
