Notably, India initiated their innings with a strong start after being opted to bat, thanks to the contributions of Rohit Sharma. Nevertheless, once he was dismissed, the pace of the innings significantly decelerated. Despite Virat Kohli and KL Rahul both achieving half-centuries, the scoring rate diminished during the middle overs, leading to India ultimately being constrained to a total of 240 runs in their allocated 50 overs.

In reply, Australia encountered early setbacks, but Head remained composed, effectively fending off the Indian bowlers. He went on to score 137 runs off 120 balls as Australia secured a 6-wicket triumph.
