Australia superstar Ellyse Perry made history overnight, taking the first-ever six-wicket haul in the Women’s Premier League in India.

The 33-year-old took 6-15 – the competition’s best-ever figures and her personal best figures in T20 cricket – as her Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai were on 65-1 before Perry ran riot with the next six wickets, running through the order to leave the Indians 82-7.

Perry bowled four batters and snared two more lbw – with a star-studded list of wickets including India captain Harmanpreet Kaur, England star Nat Sciver-Brunt and NZ’s Amelia Kerr.

Perry backed it up with an unbeaten 40 off 38 – with five fours and a six – to chase down Mumbai’s 113 runs with five overs to spare.

She becomes the first player in men’s or women’s cricket to have taken a six-wicket haul and scored a century in all three formats of the game.

For good measure, Perry took a catch in the deep just to round out her incredible night.
