Indian batter Shubman Gill has climbed one place to secure the fourth position in the ICC rankings for ODI batters, despite some inconsistencies in his recent 50-over performances. In the most recent ICC ODI rankings, Gill now boasts 743 rating points, making him India’s top-ranked batter in this format. Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq occupy the first and third spots, with South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen positioned between them. However, there have been no alterations in the rankings for India’s prominent players Virat Kohli (ninth) and captain Rohit Sharma (eleventh).
In the inaugural ODI between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Afghanistan’s spin bowler Mujeeb ur Rahman delivered a memorable performance, concluding with figures of 3/33 in 10 overs, dismissing notable players like Babar, Mohammad Rizwan and Usama Mir. Consequently, Mujeeb has made a significant leap from sixth to third place in the ICC ODI Rankings for bowlers, surpassing Rashid Khan, Mohammed Siraj and Matt Henry. The top two bowlers in the rankings remain Australia’s Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc, while the top 10 is completed by players like Trent Boult, Adam Zampa, Shaheen Afridi and Kuldeep Yadav.
Conversely, there have been no modifications in the top 10 of the ICC ODI Rankings for all-rounders, where Shakib Al Hasan continues to hold the coveted number one position.
