The Indian Premier League (IPL) is renowned for being one of the most exciting cricket tournaments in the world. It merges two of India’s glamorous industries: cricket and Bollywood. A few of the IPL franchises are owned by Bollywood superstars who enjoy spending time with their teams.

One of the IPL owners who is cherished by many is Preity Zinta, the co-owner of the Punjab Kings (previously known as Kings XI Punjab). Recently, she shared a story from the 2009 IPL season where she had to fulfill her promise of making 120 aloo parathas for her team.

“First time I realised, how much do the boys eat. We were in South Africa, and they served not a good all parantha. Then I told them, ‘I will teach you to make all paratha’. Seeing that, the boys asked if I can make all parathas for them. I told them that, will make aloo parathas if they win the next match. They won it. Then I made 120 aloo parathas. After that I have stopped making aloo parathas,” Zinta revealed while talking on Star Sports.

There is no denying that Punjab Kings is one of the most popular IPL teams, however, they have not yet managed to win an IPL title. The closest they came to clinch the IPL title was in 2014 when they finished as the runners-up, having been defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the final.

When it comes to the ongoing 16th season of the cash-rich league, PBKS are currently placed in the sixth position on the points table after four wins in eight matches.
