Marnus Labuschagne wrapped up his county season at Glamorgan with a record-breaking bowling performance during Friday’s T20 Blast match against Somerset in Cardiff.
The Queensland leg-spinner claimed career-best figures of 5-11 from 2.3 overs, including a triple-wicket maiden, to help roll Somerset for 123 in 13.3 overs at Sophia Gardens.
It was the best bowling performance by a Glamorgan player in the T20 format, bettering Graham Wagg’s 5-15 against Worcestershire in June 2013.
Brought into the attack in the tenth over, Labuschagne removed rival captain Lewis Gregory before cleaning up Somerset’s tail, with his four remaining dismissals each bowled.
Gregory’s departure sparked a frantic collapse of 7-35, with Glamorgan cruising towards a commanding 123-run victory.

Earlier, Glamorgan posted 4-243 from its 20 overs, the highest team total from this season’s T20 Blast, with captain Kiran Carlson smacking a career-best 135 (64) after winning the toss and choosing to bat first.
However, it wasn’t enough for the Welsh county to qualify for the knockouts, finishing sixth in their group’s standings with six wins from 13 encounters.
Labuschagne, who will return home to Australia this week, finished the T20 Blast with 228 runs at 20.72 and 15 wickets at 12.86.
