Pat Cummins’ Australians will get one final opportunity to finetune their World Cup preparation this week with a three-match ODI series against tournament favourites India.
The host nation is coming off a triumphant Asia Cup campaign, which included a ten-wicket thumping of Sri Lanka in the final, while Australia is reeling after 3-2 defeat against the Proteas in South Africa.
Several of Australia’s superstars have returned from injury, including Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell, while India has opted to rest many of their first-choice players for the opening two matches.
The first ODI between India and Australia gets underway at Mohali’s Inderjit Singh Bindra Stadium on Friday at 6pm AEST.
