A new season means new kits and clubs across Europe have been unveiling their new colours for the 2023/24 campaign.

From retro-designs to modern twists on old classics, there’s no shortage of superb shirts for collectors to feast upon ahead of the upcoming campaign.

10 of the best new kits released in Europe this season.

Roma

Roma are often adorned in some of the smartest kits in European football, but after two rather underwhelming editions from New Balance have unveiled an instant classic after uniting with Adidas.

It’s a first Adidas-Roma combination since the early nineties and one that hasn’t disappointed, with the inclusion of the Lupetto crest making this a modern take on a retro classic.

Fiorentina

Fiorentina are a favourite for kit collectors, with the club’s violet colours one of the most unique in European football.

Iconic Italian kits and Kappa go hand-in-hand and the manufacturers have delivered with stylish home and away jerseys for the upcoming campaign.

Optimism is high in Florence after reaching two cup finals last season and Vincenzo Italiano’s side will hope to continue progressing and end more than two barren decades with silverware next season.

Porto

New Balance are once again creators of FC Porto’s designs for the new season and have delivered three kits to catch the eye.

In addition to the traditional blue and white home shirt and a marzipan-based away, Porto have released a sleek looking third shirt

The third jersey is a blue background with a subtle graphic, added to with clean-looking golden logos and trim. It might not get worn too often as an alternative shirt, but it really should.

Lyon

Lyon’s latest release is a beauty as the club pay tribute to their golden era of the early noughties.

Lyon won seven straight Ligue 1 titles during a dominant period in France following the turn of the millennium and their home shirt for 2023/24 is a nod back to the kits once worn by the likes of Juninho Pernambucano and Sonny Anderson two decades ago.

The traditional white, red and blue are combined with elegant gold trims, while the Fly Emirates sponsor was changed from red to gold late on in the design process – a decision that has worked wonderfully.

Real Madrid

We’re big fans of gold in football kits and Real Madrid are another who have opted for regal look in 2023/24.

The Spanish side’s iconic all-white kit is decorated with navy and gold detailing, including a navy stripe running down each side. Adidas have also incorporated the club’s “¡Hala Madrid!” slogan on the collar.

Jude Bellingham will be well dressed during his debut campaign at the Bernabeu.

Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain have produced some of the best looking kits in European football across the last decade and their latest offering demonstrates how simplicity can often benefit shirt design.

PSG’s 2023/34 shirt is inspired by the club’s kits of the early 2000s, as worn by the brilliant Ronaldinho. We can get on board with that.

AC Milan

AC Milan have gone bold in their design for the new season with the club having moved away from the traditional red and black stripes for an alternative look.

The upcoming campaign will see the Rossoneri adorn reinvented stripes in a slit design, while the centre of the jersey features a repeated M graphic to represent the city of Milan.

Borussia Monchengladbach

We’ll be honest, Borussia Monchengladbach kits have rarely been ones to get pulses racing, but the latest offering from the Bundesliga side has been rightfully well received.

Simple, clean and with a classy collar in club colours, the design is minimal but one which works and works well. Smart.

Galatasaray

Galatasaray have some of the most recognisable colours in the game and Nike’s latest look for the Turkish titans has reverted back to classic kits of the past.

The traditional half-and-half design is back with a rounded collar and subtle details. Befitting of champions, after a record-extending 23rd Süper Lig title last season
