With Manchester City having won their sixth Premier League title in seven years, fans will be keener than ever to enjoy the success of their favourite team by attending matches.
The process for buying tickets can be rather complicated, though, and in this guide, we will provide all the information you need to organise your visit to the Etihad Stadium for the 2024/25 season.
How to buy Man City tickets
In order to purchase a ticket to see Manchester City play, you will need to buy a membership. This costs £35 (a year) for a Matchday membership, and £20 for a Junior membership.
Once you have signed up, you are then given access to buying tickets for home games. It should be pointed out that season ticket holders will be given priority for the 19 home league games, but, pre-season, Champions League and domestic cup fixtures are dealt with differently.
Pre-season friendly tickets for this summer’s tour of the United States are not handled by the club itself. Links to purchase tickets for the matches against Celtic (in North Carolina), AC Milan (in New York City), Barcelona (in Orlando) and Chelsea (in Ohio) can be found here.
How much do Man City tickets cost?
A lot will depend on whether you are purchasing a season ticket, for a single league fixture or a Champions League/domestic cup game.
Season tickets have five different membership levels (Value Gold, Gold, Platinum, 93:20 and Flexi Gold), all of which have different benefits. The cheapest will set a fan back £425, while the most expensive is as much as £1080.
What are the differences between the season ticket membership levels?
- Value Gold – is limited to current season ticket holders who want to sit in a single seat for all 19 league games. There is only a small supply and they are purchased on a first-come-first-served basis.
- Gold – simply gets you a seat for all 19 Premier League fixtures.
- Platinum – costs an additional £50 and has all the benefits of the gold membership tier, but gives you double “ticket points” which means you are more likely to be offered seats for the biggest games.
- 93:20 – you get premium seating, meaning you have one of the best views of the pitch and a better matchday experience overall.
- Flexi-Gold – gives more flexibility for season ticket holders who can’t attend every single game but would like the option of sitting in a single seat.
The club also runs a ticket exchange, where season ticket holders who can’t attend a match can sell their tickets to fellow members. It is important to remember that season ticket holders who fail to attend 10 of the 19 home games will not be able to continue using their tickets.
What does it cost to watch a single Man City match?
In terms of a single league game, the prices are £74 for adults, £53 for 18-21s and £32 for under 18s.
Can you buy Man City tickets if you’re a tourist?
Yes, but it does depend on ticket availability. Season ticket holders get first priority before the Cityzens membership level is given an exclusive window to purchase.
If there are still seats available, the tickets will go on general sale but, if do want a guaranteed ticket, it’s best to purchase one of the two membership levels (Matchday or Junior) on Manchester City’s official website.
Each fan can purchase up to six tickets. However, this will differ depending on how high-profile a game is and special criteria may well be put in place for specific fixtures, restricting how many you can buy.
What about disabled supporters’ tickets and access?
To purchase an accessible matchday ticket, you must have an online account and a supporter number in the disabled fan’s name. You then need to send an email to access@mancity.com with supporting evidence.
There are 5 forms of evidence that City currently accepts:
- A Disability Living Allowance statement (higher or middle rate) as issued by the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP)
- Enhanced rate of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
- Receipt of Severe Disablement Allowance or Attendance Allowance
- Blind or Partially Sighted Registration Certificate
- An Access Card or alternative supporting documentation can also be submitted. Anyone outside of the UK should submit equivalent documents from their own country.
There are currently 255 wheelchair positions inside the Etihad Stadium, with 5 easily accessible entrances at D, H, M1, S and W doors.
Powered wheelchairs are permitted (as long as their max speed doesn’t exceed 4mph). Large scooters are not allowed inside the ground.
Can you buy tickets for Man City away games?
There is a loyalty scheme in place which means the purchasing of away tickets is a more complicated process.
“Ticket Points” are awarded to season ticket holders and members who have attended home matches. For purchasing away tickets, these points are then used on a sliding scale – in other words, the more you have, the more likely you are to get an away ticket.
Due to the limited number of tickets for away fixtures, these allocations are generally snapped up by season ticket holders and members, although there are rare occasions where the club do put them on general sale.
It is important to point out that the re-sale of away tickets is not permitted, unlike for home games. Premier League rules mean the cost of these tickets is capped at £30.
How to buy season tickets to see Man City Women
You can buy season tickets on a first-come-first-serve basis, either by registering an online account or phoning the fan support team on +44 (0) 161 444 1894.
The season ticket can be paid in four equal monthly instalments or it can be paid in full upfront.
A season ticket will get you access to all of Man City’s home Women’s Super League matches, as well as access to the Cup Scheme with tickets for the Women’s FA Cup and the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup.
Can you buy single-game tickets for Man City Women?
Yes, you can. It costs just £9 for adults and £4 for children to see the team in action. Of course, these prices will increase depending on where you want to sit.
