The Saudi club are eager to add more European players to their squad this summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly told Al Nassr to sign William Carvalho from Real Betis.

Ronaldo’s arrival last winter paved the way for more European players to continue their careers in Saudi Arabia. The likes of N’Golo Kante and Karim Benzema have already chosen their next clubs, while a host of other elite-level stars are in line to arrive at the Saudi Pro League.

According to AS, Ronaldo is keen to see his “best friend” join Al Nassr this summer. The Spanish outlet claims CR7 has asked the club to sign William Carvalho ahead of the next season.

Similar to Ronaldo, Carvalho started his career by breaking into Sporting Lisbon’s senior team. The Portuguese midfielder attracted interest from several Premier League sides but stayed at his childhood club until 2018.

Real Betis signed Carvalho on a €16m deal, with the Angola-born star turning into a key player in their midfield. The 31-year-old is under contract at Betis until 2026 but interest from Al Nassr could convince the club to sign him this summer.

Ronaldo registered 14 goals and two assists for Al Nassr after his mid-season move from Man Utd. The 38-year-old doesn’t seem to have a problem fitting in his new team but the arrival of Carvalho could further help him settle at Al Nassr.
