Earlier The Guardian claimed Spurs are finally set to bring an end to its lengthy search for an Antonio Conte replacement, with Postecoglou viewed as the ideal candidate to take up the vacancy.

It also seems the feeling is mutual, with Postecoglou telling Celtic directors — including major shareholder Dermot Desmond — he is keen to make the jump to the Premier League, per the Daily Mail.

The former Socceroos boss would arrive in London on the back of a trophy-laden spell in Celtic, where he won the Scottish Premiership and League Cup in his first season before completing the treble in his second.

He also guided the Hoops to a Champions League return where they impressed against some of the biggest teams on the continent.

Reputable UK outlets such as The Telegraph and The Timeshaven’t gone as far as stating Postecoglou is essentially through the door at Spurs, however they claim the London outfit will make an official approach in the coming days.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy decided to wait until Celtic’s Scottish Cup final was complete before making an official move on the Australian boss.

Postecoglou became Tottenham’s primary candidate after Feyenoord boss Arne Slot pulled himself out of the race.

Spurs had also talked to former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann about the vacancy, but the German reportedly had concerns about the role.

Although Postecoglou is seen as Spurs’ top choice, they also have ex-Spain manager Luis Enrique and Fulham boss Marco Silva on their managerial shortlist.
