Aston Villa are reportedly no longer in the running to sign Maximilian Beier in the summer transfer window.
The Villans were one of several top clubs linked with the German forward following his eye-catching performances for Hoffenheim last season.
The 21-year-old scored 16 league goals during a breakthrough Bundesliga campaign, having returned from a loan spell with second tier outfit Hannover 96.
Beier also earned himself a place in the Germany squad at Euro 2024, where he made one appearance off the bench during their group stage draw with Switzerland.

Germany media claimed on Monday that both Aston Villa and Chelsea had ‘submitted offers’ to the player, with negotiations yet to take place with his club.
However, it has now emerged that the Midlands club are ‘not negotiating’ for Beier and he is not a part of their summer plans, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
It’s also claimed that Villa are instead focused on trying to secure a deal with Atletico Madrid for Joao Felix, who is Unai Emery’s ‘dream’ transfer target.
The Portugal international has fallen out of favour at the Spanish club and spent last season on loan with Barcelona. He also spent the first half of 2023 on loan with Chelsea.
Manchester United, Bayer Leverkusen Brentford have been linked with a move for Beier this summer, while Liverpool were reportedly interested last year.
