Five player’s contracts at Bayer Leverkusen are expiring this summer, according to Bild. Here is everything you need to know.

Russian national goalkeeper Andrey Lunev has only featured three times for Bayer Leverkusen since arriving in 2021. Spartak Moscow are rumoured to be interested in the goalkeeper who will most likely leave for free this summer. As per the report, B04 are seeking to find another number two who can challenge Lukáš Hrádecký (32).

Daley Sinkgraven is another who is likely to leave for free this summer. Since joining from Ajax in 2019, the 26-year-old Dutchman has played 50 times for B04 but never quite made the breakthrough he was hoping for in the Bundesliga. A return to the Netherlands is the most probable destination.

Ayman Azhil is a homegrown talent at Leverkusen and at just 21 would need more time to develop if he is to be a regular at B04. Therefore, a move is the most likely option for Azhil. Whether that’s on a free transfer or a loan deal with his contract extended by 12 months remains to be seen.

Charles Aránguiz has already been given the green light to leave. He could depart as early as this January with clubs such as  Club Universidad de Chile and FC Sao Paulo interested. B04 are willing to bring in a new number six in replacement of the 33-year-old.

Karim Bellarabi’s situation is still up in the air. Before Christmas, Bellarabi was happy to stay in Germany but wouldn’t be completely against a move aboard. The 32-year-old is an experienced professional and an important role model within the B04 camp. Leverkusen are most likely going to wait and see with Bellarabi and make a decision closer to summer.
