Arsenal centre-back Ben White is a “loyal follower” of Gunners boss Mikel Arteta and won’t consider swapping the Emirates for Manchester City, according to Calciomercato.com.
The Italian website has backed up reports for Spain that the Citizens are interested in the England international but they have added that the Premier League champions don’t stand a chance of securing the defender’s signature.
White joined Arsenal from Brighton for £50m in the summer of 2021 but he has been switched to fullback this season, with Arteta having also decided to accommodate William Saliba in his back four.
It is proven to be pretty successful as White has established himself as a regular starter on the right flank, having moved ahead of Takehiro Tomiyasu and Cedric in the pecking order.
No doubt, White’s adaptability has attracted Pep Guardiola, who seems intent on revamping his backline, with the Citizens having also been heavily linked with RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol.
