Borussia Dortmund brand Jadon Sancho return rumours as nonsense – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United have been trying to offload Jadon Sancho since the summer window opened but time is running out to find a permanent solution.

Last season, Erik ten Hag and the player had a major fall-out when the manager called out the forward for his below-par training displays.

That led to the Englishman putting out a statement on social media against the boss, which ultimately ended in Sancho getting banished from the first team after he failed to apologise for his behaviour.

With his stock falling rapidly, the club decided to loan him out to former club Borussia Dortmund in a bid to help him regain confidence and lift his flagging market value.

Sancho’s future

The temporary stint ended on a high as he guided the Germans to the Champions League final but the club still did not offer as much as INEOS were hoping for, instead trying to acquire the England international on the cheap.

The new co-owners decided to bring back the 24-year-old to Carrington to send a message to potential suitors that he would not be offloaded on the cheap.

Ten Hag and Sancho had positive talks and he was given chances during pre-season but since the new Premier League season began, the former Manchester City academy graduate is yet to feature in both of the matchday squads.

It is clear that the former Ajax coach will not hand the versatile winger too many chances and Juventus and Chelsea are trying to seal his signature before deadline day.

However, United have been left far from impressed with Juve’s offers thus far while the Blues seem to be Sancho’s preferred destination despite United wanting not to strengthen a direct rival.

Dortmund not in the race

Dortmund were offered the chance to hijack the deal and while the Bundesliga side could use United’s desperation to land their former star on their terms, outlet Ruhr Nachrichten have termed the deal as “almost impossible”.

Sancho’s humongous wages would be a major stumbling block while they are unlikely to afford to pay United’s current asking price as well.

Dortmund officials have branded recent rumours of a potential return as “nonsense” and it looks like the race is between the Serie A side and the team from London for now.

It is clear that problems persist between the player and his club manager and United would do well to get rid of the player even at a considerable loss.
