The transfer window is fast approaching and clubs across Europe are plotting their summer spend to bolster their squads for next season.
With no international tournament to provide a distraction this summer, expect the rumour mill to go into overdrive over the coming weeks.
Manchester United are expected to be busy in the market with major additions needed to mount a serious title charge next year.
Outgoings are also on the cards, with deadwood expected to be shown the door to raise funds for Erik ten Hag’s kitty.
One player linked with an exit is winger, Jadon Sancho.
As reported by Christian Falk in Caught Offside, Sancho’s former club Borussia Dortmund are keeping tabs on his mood at United.
Although Dortmund would be open to re-signing Sancho, they have already said that they would not be able to facilitate a permanent deal.
Despite not setting the world alight at Old Trafford, Sancho would still command a €55million fee, which is out of the German club’s price range.
However, Dortmund are interested in a loan move for the struggling star, but it would mean Sancho taking a salary hit for a deal to come to fruition.
It’s reported Sancho would have to slash his current €21 million-a-year wage in half, if he is to re-join his former club for next season.
United are in any case not expected to entertain any kind of loan deal, with permanent transfers the only way to boost Ten Hag’s budget.
Furthermore, United are likely to want to persist with a player they moved heaven and earth to sign, back in 2021.
Despite not finding his best form since him arrival, Sancho has showed flashes of his obvious talent and there’s a theory that the more United start to control games, the more we’ll see of Sancho’s ability.
The Englishman will be desperate to get a good pre-season under his belt and start next season with a bang to set his United career on fire.
