Chelsea have offered Djordje Petrovic to Serie A side Genoa with the club targeting the signing of a new goalkeeper this summer.

Petrovic made 31 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea last season after dislodging Robert Sanchez as first-choice at Stamford Bridge. The 24-year-old signed from MLS side New England Revolution in a £12.5m deal last summer but has been deemed disposable this summer.

BBC Sport are reporting that Chelsea have offered the Serbian shot-stopper to Genoa, with the West Londoners keen to bring in another goalkeeper to compete with Sanchez for the number one shirt.

Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen and Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili are among those being considered.

The former broke into the Villarreal team last season and led La Liga for saves during the campaign. He has won six caps for Denmark’s u-21 side since swapping his international allegiance from Sweden.

Mamardashvili also impressed in La Liga and led Spain’s top division for expected goals prevented. The 23-year-old then impressed for Georgia at Euro 2024 to top the tournament for both saves and goals prevented as the debutants reached the knockout rounds.
