Chelsea players have reportedly been ‘impressed’ by Graham Potter’s handling of his squad in recent weeks.

The Chelsea boss has come under huge pressure lately amid a run of form that saw them win just two games in 14 outings.

The Blues have, however, won their last two matches, beating Leeds 1-0 at the weekend before overturning a 1-0 first-leg deficit with a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund to progress to the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday night.

Chelsea’s form and lack of goals of late saw the pressure mount on the former Brighton boss, though the west London club’s new owners have remained steadfast in their support of the 47-year-old.

According to the Telegraph, ‘doubt’ had started to set in among the players over Potter’s ability to turn things around at Stamford Bridge, though they have been left ‘reassured’ by his heart-to-heart talks as well as ‘impressed by his handling of the squad’.

They say that Potter has opted to listen to the views of others rather than ‘dishing out his own orders’ in a bid to get the club moving forward.

Potter has taken Hakim Ziyech and Mykhailo Mudryk out of the starting XI for the last couple of games, while he also restored Marc Cucurella to the starting lineup for the Dortmund victory having left the under-fire defender out of the squad entirely for the last three weeks.

He has also resorted to a back three for their last two games having utilised a back four for much of his early games in charge.

Next up for the Blues is a trip to take on Leicester City before a home clash against Everton.
