One of the brightest European stars might be up for a January move as Chelsea are set to attempt to land Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are in dire need of goals and clinical outcomes up top, and the Chelsea board is looking to land the future star.

Chelsea’s attacking resources this season have been woefully inefficient, as the squad seriously lacks some finishing instinct and a No. 9 who can land the plethora of chances created. Aubameyang has not yet settled into the squad, and his age is reflected in his performances on the pitch. Thus, the Blues are in dire need of a young clinical finisher and they might hit the best shot by landing the German sensation. A summer move was being anticipated by all but the recent injury to Broja might push Chelsea to make an early swoop.

Youssoufa Moukoko has a lot of records already on his name. He is the youngest debutant in the Bundesliga, the youngest scorer in the Bundesliga and now has registered himself as the youngest German to play in the World Cup.

The German striker started his youth career in Germany and was swooped in by the amazing scouts of Dortmund, who are yet again ready to produce another European star. Moukoko has been among the goals at all levels, which helped him earn a debut for the senior Dortmund team at the mere age of 16. Last season saw Dortmund sell their biggest goal threat, Erling Haaland, making a void up top for the Yellow Army. With Haller also ruled out, Moukoko had big boots to fill, but the striker has done exceptionally well as he contributed 12 goals to his team in the 22 appearances before the World Cup. This also helped him earn a World Cup call-up at this young age.

Moukoko, termed as Messi’s successor by Samuel Eto’o, is a complete striker who is brilliant with his long shots. He can create chances for runners on wings with line-breaking passes and can also dribble past players with ease. One added advantage that he can provide to Potter’s team is his defensive contribution. Chelsea, in recent seasons, loved to play as a unit in both attack and defence and expect their forward line to contribute defensively as well. He has an excellent tackles completion ratio considering his primary job is to attack. With Nkunku’s deal for Chelsea also looking likely, a revamp in attack could solve Chelsea’s attacking issue, which they have been missing in the recent future. Moukoko has his dreams set to play in the Premier League with all Big six monitoring the German’s situation, but also has interest from other European giants including Barcelona, who are Chelsea’s biggest competition in this deal. However, as reported, there is a belief amongst all the clubs that Chelsea stands in a much better situation of landing the German sensation.

With a number of new faces on the Chelsea board, a statement window could be on the line, and with the new approach to securing the future, Moukoko looks as the perfect fit. Rumours circulating suggested that Chelsea were ready to sign the teenager on a free deal once his contract runs out in the summer, but now with the injury to Broja, Chelsea might be ready even to pay up to get his services earlier. This might help Dortmund to get some benefit rather than losing him for free in the summer. A duo partnership with Aubameyang could help the German learn from the ex-Dortmund star and help him adapt to the Premier League.
