Kerry Hau of Sport1 reports that Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana was recently offered to Bayern Munich.

Fofana (22) played two games under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea and the German appreciates the French defender, but he will be too expensive for the Bundesliga champions. A deal for Fofana would also be extremely unlikely with the imminent arrival of Napoli’s Kim-Min jae, who is expected to sign a five-year deal with the Rekordmeister. Bayern will activate the South Korean’s €50m release clause in the coming days.

With the arrival of Kim, one defender that is sure to leave is Lucas Hernandez. The 27-year-old is in Paris and is expected to join PSG for around €50m including bonuses. Prior to PSG’s interest, Bayern had been open to the idea of extending the Frenchman’s contract, that was until he informed the club that he would like to depart.

According to Hau, Bayern had also been informed of Aston Villa’s bid for Villarreal defender Pau Torres, but they won’t act upon this. They plan on going into the 2023/24 Bundesliga season with Matthijs de Ligt, Dayot Upamecano, Kim-Min jae and homegrown players Josip Stanišić and Tarek Buchmann, the latter of which recently signed his first professional contract.
