Christian Pulisic has arrived in Milan to undergo a medical and complete his transfer from Chelsea to AC Milan.
Pulisic arrived in Italy on Wednesday and after the 24-year-old completes his medical he will become a new AC Milan player. Per reports from Fabrizio Romano, Pulisic will sign a four-year contract with the Italian giants.
Speaking to reporters as he arrived at the airport in Milan, this is what Pulisic had to say.
With Milan signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea this summer and already having great success with signing Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud from Chelsea in recent years, it appears the West London to Milan pipeline is in full-flow once again.
What is going on?
Chelsea sold Pulisic to Milan for an initial fee of $26 million plus there are believed to be add-ons and the Blues have also inserted a big sell-on clause in the deal.
Pulisic, 24, had just one year left on his contract at Chelsea and it it was the right time for him to move on.
New Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has added Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson in attack as Chelsea rebuild under Pochettino and Pulisic will not fit his system.
Is a move to Italy good for Pulisic?
Probably. It seems like a good tactical fit and the American winger will be able to build up minutes but probably not on the left flank as that is where Portuguese superstar Rafael Leao operates.
If Milan can agree a transfer fee with Chelsea, this seems like a move which will work out well for everyone and it is time for Pulisic to move on from his time at Chelsea.
Yes, he was pivotal in their amazing run to win the UEFA Champions League in 2021 but aside from a few incredible flashes his four-year stay at Chelsea have been disappointing for all involved.
