Kicker have released a list of membership numbers of Bundesliga teams. Schalke and FC Köln are amongst the four biggest clubs in Germany, but they’re both followed closely by Eintracht Frankfurt, who have seen a sharp increase following their recent Europa League triumph and continuous development in the Bundesliga over the last three seasons. Full list:
- Bayern Munich – 295,000
- Borussia Dortmund – 168,163
- Schalke – 164,000
- FC Köln – 123,000
- Eintracht Frankfurt – 120,000
- Borussia Mönchengladbach – 98,000
- Stuttgart – 75,500
- Union Berlin – 48,364
- Hertha Berlin – 44,211
- Werder Bremen – 42,407
- Freiburg – 40,000
- Bayer Leverkusen – 29,500
- Augsburg – 20,033
- Wolfsburg – 20,000
- Bochum – 20,000
- Mainz – 13,700
- Hoffenheim – 11,000
- RB Leipzig – 910
Unsurprisingly, RB Leipzig are bottom by some distance given their membership package starts at a reported €1000 a year, significantly higher than the fee that most fans pay to be a member of their clubs, which is typically less than €100 a season. Members get to vote on key issues such a club presidency and ticket prices amongst other important aspects.
