Manchester United’s Facundo Pellistri and Uruguay safely navigated their way to the top of Group C and booked their quarter final place in Copa America late last night.

The 15 time champions beat the United States of America 1-0 to claim their third win on the trot.

A goal from left back Mathías Olivera was enough to secure the victory as La Celeste edged a close encounter and dumped the States out of the tournament they are hosting.

The South Americans had 12 shots to eight and had slightly more possession as they had 50.3% of the ball in an even encounter.

United winger Pellistri continued his fine tournament as he was given a Sofascore rating of 7.1.

The winger had 25 touches in the game and completed 100% of his 12 passes.

He hit one key pass in the game and he also completed 100% of his long balls.

The 22 year old was also a threat as he had one shot on target and one shot off target during the match and completed one out of his two dribble attempts.

The winger dug in defensively for his side too, winning four out of seven ground duels and completing two tackles on the evening.

Pellistri was a little wasteful on the ball however, giving it away six times and this is something he will aim to do better in the quarter final tie on Saturday night (Sunday morning UK time).

United fans will also have been paying close attention to the performance of Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte, who is reportedly edging closer to a move to Old Trafford, as the clubs are in talks over a transfer.

The defensive midfielder scored an impressive 7.8 on Sofascore, winning 100% of his seven ground duels, showing the fighting spirit he will hopefully bring to the team if the move is completed.

He also made three clearances and four tackles, completing 77% of his passes on the night.

The Uruguayans will find out their opponents for the next round after today’s completion of the group fixtures, however as things stand, it looks set to be a mouth-watering contest against Brazil, as they currently sit second in group D, two points behind Colombia.
