Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow has admitted he’s open to making the step up to a new club away from the Netherlands amidst links to Premier League outfits including Manchester United.

Last summer, Bijlow was a concrete target for United as the club bid David de Gea farewell after 12 years of loyal service.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano even relayed that United held talks with Feyenoord over the potential signing of Bijlow.

Needless to say, a move never materialised and the Red Devils went on to secure the services of Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir instead.

However, there have been rumblings that United could dip into the market once again for a new shot-stopper, especially in the event that Bayindir departs Old Trafford.

The Turkey international, who has only made one appearance for United, is understood to be unhappy with his situation at the club and could look for a fresh challenge just 12 months after he joined. This is where Bijlow could potentially come in.

Bijlow – who has eight caps for the Netherlands – is also thought to be on the radar of Arsenal and Liverpool. The Liverpool links are especially interesting considering that Arne Slot who was previously the manager at Feyenoord, succeeded Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

Bijlow opened up to Voetbal Zone (via Football365) and addressed the mounting interest in him.

The 26-year-old said, “Those are two very nice clubs. Of course it is always nice to be mentioned at big clubs. What I’m just saying: I’m ambitious. As long as I play for Feyenoord, I’ll give everything for that and first I just want to focus on the Dutch team.”

“Would I stay at Feyenoord? You never know, do you? That’s football. You don’t know that. I’m ambitious, I’ve always said that.”

He added, “If the opportunity presents itself and a good club comes from abroad, I am open to it. I’ve always said that.”

“As long as I am under contract with Feyenoord, that is never a punishment and I will give everything as long as I play there.”

Bijlow made 17 Eredivisie appearances in the 2023/24 season and in that time, managed to keep eight clean sheets.
