Fantasy Premier League: Five transfers to target for GW28

Neto – Bournemouth (£4.6m)

Bournemouth face a hugely appealing Double Gameweek 28, as the Cherries host relegation-threatened Sheffield United and Luton on home soil.

Sheffield United will arrive at the Vitality Stadium fresh from a 6-0 home humbling to Arsenal and have lost their last three games in the Premier League, failing to score and conceding 12 times.

Neto is the fifth-highest-scoring goalkeeper in FPL so far this season and has been among the Cherries’ most consistent performers this season. The veteran recorded eight points after a clean sheet at Burnley last time out and ranks behind only Fulham’s Bernd Leno and Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez for bonus points won this season.

Only Dominic Solanke has won more FPL points than Neto (90) among Bournemouth players in 2023/24.

FPL bosses be warned, however, Neto blanks in GW29.

Upcoming fixtures:

Gameweek 28: Sheffield United (H), Luton (H)

Gameweek 29: Blank

Gameweek 30: Everton (H)

Alfie Doughty – Luton (£4.7m)

Luton options should attract FPL managers ahead of Gameweek 28, with the Hatters possessing a Double Gameweek and featuring during the largely blank Gameweek 29.

Rob Edwards’ side travel to face Crystal Palace at the weekend, before heading on the road again to take on Bournemouth on March 13. Luton are struggling for form right now after four consecutive defeats, but continue to provide stubborn opposition.

Alfie Doughty has been one of the standouts of the club’s campaign to date, with his deliveries from dead balls having made Luton a real threat from set-pieces. The left-back has a goal and eight FPL assists so far this season and Luton will look to utilise his expertise from set-pieces to turn their form around.

Upcoming fixtures:

Gameweek 28: Crystal Palace (A), Bournemouth (A)

Gameweek 29: Nottingham Forest (H)

Gameweek 30: Tottenham (A)

Bukayo Saka – Arsenal (£9.2m)

Can Fantasy Premier League bosses afford to be without Bukayo Saka right now?

Saka is the form player in the Premier League, scoring seven times and providing a further two assists in his last six league appearances. The 22-year-old has racked up 66 points across those six games, averaging double-digits per game during that period.

Arsenal have been in free-scoring form to move back into contention for the Premier League title and will hope to ramp up the pressure on Liverpool and Manchester City, who meet the following day.

Their opponents this weekend, Brentford, have been uncharacteristically leaky in recent weeks, conceding 2+ goals in eight of their last 10 league games.

Arsenal are another side who blank in GW29.

Upcoming fixtures:

Gameweek 28: Brentford (H)

Gameweek 29: Blank

Gameweek 30: Manchester City (A)

Carlton Morris – Luton (£5.1m)

Carlton Morris has found form in recent weeks, with Luton’s stand-in captain delivering in the absence of leading scorer Elijah Adebayo.

The 28-year-old has blanked just once in his last seven appearances, scoring four times and providing a further three assists. Having fired Luton’s promotion push last season, Morris has handled the step up to the top tier impressively and adds a real physical presence to a Hatters side who flood the box with crosses.

He is also Luton’s penalty taker, scoring four from four this season, boosting his appeal.

A Double in GW28 and a home fixture against Nottingham Forest in GW29 make Morris an excellent immediate option as the third forward in your FPL squad.

Upcoming fixtures:

Gameweek 28: Crystal Palace (A), Bournemouth (A)

Gameweek 29: Nottingham Forest (H)

Gameweek 30: Tottenham (A)

Dominic Solanke – Bournemouth (£7.1m)

Dominic Solanke has been one of the breakout stars of the 2023/24 FPL campaign, emerging as one of the most selected strikers in the game.

Solanke has racked up 130 points – only Ollie Watkins and Erling Haaland have more among forwards – after scoring 14 goals and providing three assists.

The 26-year-old boasts a brilliant Double Gameweek schedule for GW28, as Bournemouth host Sheffield United and Luton on the south coast. Having returned to winning ways at Burnley last weekend, the Cherries can kick on and move upwardly mobile again.

Though Solanke’s form has slowed since a burst of goals in December, he has a goal and two assists in his last four games.

Upcoming fixtures:

Gameweek 28: Sheffield United (H), Luton (H)

Gameweek 29: Blank

Gameweek 30: Everton (H)
