Stuttgart’s pitch will be graced with Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala, Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal when Germany face-off against Spain in Euro 2024’s first quarter-final. The quartet have been exceptional this tournament, and tomorrow promises to be a spectacle, but Julian Nagelsmann is wary of the threat that Yamal poses.

“He’s a very big talent,” said Nagelsmann in Thursday’s press conference (h/t: iMiaSanMia). “He’s been very consistent this year, there aren’t many who have been so consistent over the course of the year at Barcelona.”

Nagelsmann has spoken to İlkay Gündoğan about Yamal, adding: “He’s the right person to talk to about how things are going at the club. He [Yamal] is only 16, which also means our players have a chance to hold their own against him. We’ll see how he reacts when things get tough. But don’t worry, that doesn’t mean we want to knock him off his feet.”

David Raum started his first game at the European Championship in Germany’s 2-0 win against Denmark, and the RB Leipzig left-back is expected to retaining his place, and will be tasked with marking Yamal, who has two assists in four games for Spain in Germany.
