We were treated to another exciting week in the Bundesliga as we saw last-minute goals, hat trick heroes, and even double penalty saves. Here is GGFN’s Bundesliga team of the week for round seven.
Formation: 3-4-3
Goalkeeper: Manuel Riemann (VfL Bochum)
An obvious choice for the goalkeeping spot in the team of the week, with two important penalty saves to earn Bochum a point away from home against a strong RB Leipzig side.
Centre back: Willian Pacho (Eintracht Frankfurt)
Was an important part of Frankfurt keeping a clean sheet and earning their first win of the season with an assured defensive display. Pacho made five tackles, four clearances and three interceptions to keep out Heidenheim.
Centre back: Nico Schlotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund)
The fan’s favourite produced possibly the goal of the week with a stunning, powerful shot into the top right corner to put his team level in the match. Continued to put his body on the line and was impressive with his distribution.
Centre back: Lukas Klostermann (RB Leipzig)
Despite Leipzig not getting the win they wanted, Klostermann still played a big role in helping his side earn a clean sheet with a solid defensive performance.
Right Midfield: Franck Honorat (Borussia Mönchengladbach)
Helped open the scoring with a pinpoint cross to Florian Neuhaus. Was a creative spark for Borussia Mönchengladbach with eight key passes made.
Centre Midfield: Grischa Prömel (TSG Hoffenheim)
A big performance from Prömel as he assisted the first goal with a first-time threaded pass through to Beier. Additionally, he put his side ahead with a great strike into the bottom left corner.
Centre Midfield: Jonas Hofmann (Bayer Leverkusen)
A key figure in Bayer Leverkusen’s attacking play and this week he produced a goal and assist by putting his side ahead and then unselfishly squaring the ball across for Victor Boniface to wrap the game up.
Left Midfield: Alejandro Grimaldo (Bayer Leverkusen)
Grimaldo was vital for Bayer Leverkusen in their win and was involved in many of their attacking sequences. Provided fellow wingback Jeremie Frimpong with an assist as he played a dangerous low cross across the box for Frimpong to tap home.
Left Wing: Leroy Sané (Bayern Munich)
Sané is currently in the form of his life and carried this on with a goal and was so close to another when a spectacular strike was ruled out by a marginal offside call.
Striker: Serhou Guirassy (VfB Stuttgart)
Another appearance in the team of the week and another hat-trick for Guirassy who now has 13 goals in 7 matches and is still the Bundesliga top scorer.
Right Wing: Kingsley Coman (Bayern Munich)
Two goals for Coman this week who was a constant threat that Freiburg couldn’t handle. It can be debated whether his first goal was meant to be a cross or not, but he was still efficient with his attacking output throughout.
