A decision over Harry Kane’s future at Spurs has not yet been made

Harry Kane will tell Ange Postecoglou that he still has an open mind over his Tottenham Hotspur future when the pair meet for the first time on Wednesday.

Postecoglou will welcome Kane back to training at Tottenham’s Enfield base with Bayern Munich trying to sign the striker and his contract now in its final 12 months.

Kane will be able to earn as much as £400,000 a week by staying at Spurs, but has not yet indicated any desire to sign a new contract.

It is understood that Kane is looking forward to meeting Postecoglou for the first time on Wednesday and will make it clear that he remains open-minded over his future.

That will place the emphasis on Postecoglou to convince Kane that he can quickly get Tottenham back into Europe and challenge for success.

Bayern believe Kane is open to a move to Germany and there have been reports that head coach Thomas Tuchel has already spoken to the England captain, telling him that they could win the Champions League together.

“My conversation with him [Kane] will be about how we can make this club successful,” said Postecoglou at his Spurs unveiling on Monday. “I’ve got no doubts that’s what he wants as well. So within that context, whatever that narrows into the personal stuff around Harry as an individual. If the conversation takes it that way then we’ll take it that way. But I doubt it’s going to be defined in the manner that people think it’s going to be.

“It’s not going to be a conversation where we walk out of the room and have an understanding. I don’t want that kind of conversation, what I want is to introduce myself to Harry and give him my vision of the football club. And get a sense from him on what he thinks the club needs to do to be successful and walk out on that training pitch and try and make it happen.”

Tottenham have confirmed the signing of winger Manor Solomon, whose contract with Shakhtar Donetsk expired after spending last season on loan at Fulham and scoring five goals.
