Juventus and Inter Milan are vying for the signature of Sampdoria defender Giovanni Leoni following his impressive loan spell at La Samp last season.
The 17-year-old has reportedly signed permanently for Sampdoria, but the club is open to immediately selling him for the right offer.
Juventus has been monitoring him for some time and is keen to integrate him into their youth system this summer.
However, Inter Milan is also interested in the young talent and is actively pursuing him.
According to a report on Calciomercato, Inter recently held talks with his representatives to discuss the terms that could facilitate his transfer to the Nerazzurri.
Sampdoria is willing to sell him in this transfer window, but they are keen on including a condition that he remains on loan at the club for another season.
This arrangement would not be an issue for Juventus, as it could aid in his further development, given the limited playing time he might receive at the Allianz Stadium.
Juve FC Says
Leoni has been one of the finest youngsters in Italian football, and it would be nice to win the race for his signature.
If we fail to do so, he will join another top Serie A club, and it would be our loss.
