“He works extremely hard and is hard to defend against,” Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Dino Toppmöller on Omar Marmoush (25), who has just enjoyed his best season yet. The Egyptian has scored 12 and created six in 29 Bundesliga games for Eintracht this season, averaging a goal contribution every 128.4 minutes.

An underappreciated attacker in the Bundesliga, Marmoush has somewhat of an unorthodox style of play. Very direct and quick, the 25-year-old can operate anywhere across the front three, but often operates in the halfspaces. Twelve goals in the Bundesliga is nothing to shy away from in what was a low-scoring season from SGE (51), with only Heidenheim (50) and Werder Bremen (48) scoring fewer in the top-half of the Bundesliga.

Marmoush’s performances this season have no doubt caught the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs. According to Kicker, it’s no secret that the Egyptian dreams of playing in the Premier League one day and if that door opens, it’s possible that Marmoush would like to seek that opportunity.

A free transfer from Stuttgart in the summer, Eintracht would probably allow Marmoush to leave for around €40m, a significant fee that they can reinvest in the squad, as they have done season upon season with the likes of Sébastien Haller, Jesper Lindstrom and Randal Kolo Muani of late.

With the transfer window almost upon us, Marmoush is one to watch.
