Meanwhile, Hearts boss Robbie Neilson provided an update on the club’s pursuit of Garang Kuol as Cristiano Ronaldo could be joined by a former rival at Al-Nassr.

AUBAMEYANG BOUNCING OUT OF THE BRIDGE?

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang arrived at Chelsea in September last year in an $AUD18 million deal from Spanish giants Barcelona, reuniting him with Thomas Tuchel who was his former boss when the pair were at Borussia Dortmund.

Just four months into the former Arsenal star’s stint at Stamford Bridge and things are not exactly going to plan.

The 33-year-old has just one Premier League goal to his name and recently copped the humiliation of being subbed off having been subbed on early in Chelsea’s match against Manchester City.

With Joao Felix’s recent arrival at Chelsea and several other forwards being linked to the club, it looks like Aubameyang’s time might be up in London once again.

But which club will take him?

Well, according to Sky Sports, it appears Barcelona will be willing to welcome him back with open arms provided they can sign him for free and Memphis Depay makes a switch to Atletico Madrid as a replacement for Felix.

In his previous stint with Barcelona, Aubameyang scored 13 goals in 18 starts across all competitions.

Perhaps a return to the Camp Nou is just what’s needed for the former Gabon international to find his goalscoring boots once again.

KUOL INCHES CLOSER TO LOAN MOVE BEING MADE OFFICIAL

It’s surely only a matter of hours before Garang Kuol is officially a Hearts player.

Jambos boss Robbie Neilson revealed the Kuol deal is “just on the paperwork at the moment” as the Aussie teen sensation nears a loan switch to the club until the end of the season.

However, Neilson isn’t certain as to when the formalities will all be completed so Kuol can do what he does best for the Edinburgh outfit.

“I’ve no idea if it will be done by Friday,” Neilson said.

“It would be great if we could but we’ll just need to wait and see.”

Kuol will link up with three of his Socceroos teammates at Hearts, joining Nathaniel Atkinson, Kye Rowles and Cameron Devlin.

Should the “paperwork” be done by Friday, Kuol could make an appearance in Hearts’ Scottish Premiership clash against St Mirren — who also boast two Aussies in the form of Keanu Baccus and Ryan Strain — on Saturday morning (AEDT).

But if Kuol isn’t fully registered by then, his debut could arrive against Aberdeen next Thursday.

BLUES BRACE FOR STAR’S EXIT

As Chelsea look to tie down N’Golo Kante and Mason Mount to new deals, it could mean one of their midfield lynchpins walks for nothing at the end of the season.

The Telegraph claims the Blues are preparing for life without Jorginho, with club officials believing the Italian star is likely to return to Serie A or go elsewhere across the continent.

Jorginho arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2018 for a whopping $87 million from Napoli, as then-Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri craved a reunion with the 31-year-old.

Although he struggled to get to grips with the English game, the Italian has since gone on to make 140 appearances for the Blues and has 21 goals to his name.

However, Chelsea look more inclined to offer a new deal to Kante, despite his injury troubles this season.

RONALDO SET TO BE REUNITED WITH FORMER BITTER FOE

Cristiano Ronaldo squared off against Barcelona countless times throughout his career, but none more so than when he was at Real Madrid.

However, the Portuguese superstar could be reunited with one of his biggest rivals in that time at Al-Nassr.

According to the Daily Mail, the Saudi Arabian club is preparing to swoop for Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets.

The Spaniard is out of contract in the summer and has already attracted interest from Major League Soccer outfit Inter Miami, but he is yet to agree to a deal just yet.

It appears likely that Busquets will depart the Spanish giants in the summer, as Barcelona boss Xavi almost appears resigned to losing the midfield stalwart.

“He has a contract until June and will stay until the end of that and then we will see,” Xavi said.

“[It will then depend] how he ends the season, but I think it’s more of a personal decision for him, based on his feelings and how he feels on the pitch.”
