Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb is happy to stay at the club this summer, according to GiveMeSport reporter Ben Jacobs.
The journalist says that the Norwegian international is attracting interest from Chelsea but the player believes he will get enough minutes in the first team if he remains at the Etihad this season.
Bobb has caught the eye with his displays on the pre-season tour of the United States, having contributed goals and assists in two friendlies against Celtic and AC Milan.
The 21-year-old had a quieter game against Barcelona on Tuesday night, but his overall performance levels have been very impressive.
City have plenty of competition in wide areas
Bobb is not guaranteed a starting place this campaign, though, despite being one of the best performers over the course of pre-season.
The Premier League champions have added Savinho to the squad this summer, with the Brazilian having arrived from Troyes in a deal worth an initial £21m. He will compete with Bobb, Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku for minutes on the wings.
Bobb will face Chelsea this weekend
The Cityzens will actually be taking on the Blues in Ohio on Saturday. It is the last match that Pep Guardiola’s side will play in the US before returning home.
There is just over a week to go before the Community Shield game against arch-rivals Manchester United at Wembley. Guardiola has already warned that his squad are playing catch-up fitness-wise and he expects his team will struggle in this season’s curtain raiser, as well as the first two Premier League fixtures later this month. Players who featured in the European Championships and Copa America are returning late to training, but it will give those like Bobb the chance to shine.
