The future of Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood is likely to reach a permanent conclusion in the summer.

Greenwood is currently on loan at Spanish side Getafe and has caught the eye with some excellent performances in La Liga.

His efforts have captured the attention of major clubs across Europe, who are hoping for a possible cut price deal for the Englishman, given his circumstances at United.

Juventus are one of the clubs showing interest and Italian media sources say the Old Lady are ready to cash in some first team stars to fund a bid for Greenwood.

Samuel Iling-Junior, who has been linked with United, and Filip Kostic are the two names reportedly on the chopping block in Turin, with Max Allegri eager to make a charge for the Serie A title next season.

It’s said Allegri is plotting an overhaul of his squad, particularly in wide areas and Greenwood is high on the Italian’s shopping list.

Greenwood hasn’t featured for United since being charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

His last appearance came in January 2022 but looked as though he might have been reintegrated into the squad last summer after charges were dropped.

However, United fans made their feelings clear toward the potential reconciliation and the club decided his future was better served away from Old Trafford.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has recently said he will take a “fresh look” at Greenwood’s situation but it would be a huge shock to see him walk out in a red shirt again.

It is much more likely that INEOS are keeping their cards close to their chest in order to drum up a potential bidding war between clubs to get the best possible deal for the 22-year-old.

Greenwood has a year to run on his contract and United will surely be looking to cash in on a player that has obvious market value rather than lose him on a free next year.

The forward’s future is just one of many moving parts in what is expected to be a busy summer at the Theatre of Dreams, with incomings and outgoings on the cards as INEOS lead the club into a new era.
