Kylian Mbappe has reportedly made a bombshell call on his future which will put Europe’s biggest clubs on red alert.

Football transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reported the French superstar has informed Paris Saint-Germain he does not intend to extend his deal with the club.

It means Mbappe will become a free agent in June 2024.

However, Romano reports PSG have no intentions to lose Mbappe on a free deal, which means the French club could choose to cash in on their prized asset this summer or in the January window.

One club licking their lips at this recent revelation is Real Madrid, who have made no secret of their desire to sign Mbappe in recent years.

The Spanish giants also have a gaping hole in their attack after star striker Karim Benzema departed the club for Saudi outfit Al-Ittihad on a mega deal.

It means Madrid have cash to burn, although they have been linked with making a move for Tottenham talisman Harry Kane to fill the striker void.

However, Mbappe has plenty of years on Kane and is more versatile than the Englishman as he can play on the wing or through the middle and offers electric pace in attack.

Signing the 24-year-old would require a monumental transfer fee from Madrid that would likely have to eclipse the world-record fee PSG shelled out to sign Neymar from Barcelona.

The Brazilian winger moved to the French capital for an eye-watering $AUD353 million in 2017.

Of course, PSG will likely continue to offer Mbappe fresh terms in an effort to convince him to stay at the club where he has scored almost 150 goals in all competitions.

But with the departure of Lionel Messi and Neymar also losing some of his star power, perhaps Mbappe believes the time is now to seek a move.
